How to Video Market

An opportunity presented itself to listen to a webinar on the benefit of marketing using YouTube and videos. Here are my takeaways from the presentation.

For marketing if you have a choice to embed a YouTube video. In the admin panel of YouTube, you have the ability to choose which of your video plays first and what order you want all other videos to play.

1) First do so on your blog, and use tags (keywords for the important words you want found by the search engines. YouTube is owned by Google, so your Google searches will readily find your important, well placed key words) Even titleing your YouTube video is important using those key words enabling others to find what you are marketing.

2) Second after embedding YouTube in your blog, would be embedding in your website. Again, using key words in the title of your YouTube video, will help when search engines are being used by people to find your subject of interest.

3) Thirdly, you can embed on Twitter. Twitter also allows you to create a custom background, match colors and fonts to your style of branding, and of course tweet your links to your videos.

4) Fourth, Videos can be linked to LinkedIn.

5) Fifth, share videos on Facebook. It was mentioned that is commonly the way a video goes viral.

Also, www.Hulu.com was mentioned as another form of video marketing. I’ve not researched them as of yet. And because Google owns www.YouTube.com, that’s why my videos are on YouTube. A recommendation was to upload a video a week, if possible. I use a simple flip camera video recorder; and it was stated that high tech professional videos are not important for smaller companies, or individuals. For an HD quality, IPHONE with 720 & 1080 photo taken with audio was recommended.

The ideal length for a video is less than 5 minutes, with ideal being 1-2 minutes. I prefer mine less than 1 minutes. Get to the point; viewers lose interest after a couple minutes.

Slide on cabinet handles

It's been interesting to work on internet marketing for www.EZSlideCabinetHardware.com. The goal is to know how people are searching online for cabinet knobs, cabinet pulls, and cabinet handles. What words are they keying into their search engines?

I've learned that some of my customers search major stores carrying hardware like: IKEA, Home Depot, Lowe's and Ace. Since my products are eco-friendly, and green, including those keywords are important.
